風濕免疫科疾病對許多內科醫師或其它相關科(如骨科、復健科等)而言，為相當常見卻又獨特之疾病，本書作者累積近30年從事風濕免疫之臨床、教學與研究之豐富經驗匯集成書，期成為知識與經驗之傳承。全書共分為五個章節，分別從圖片、影像、簡單病史與病例討論中學習，對於見實習醫師、內外科住院醫師、風濕免疫科醫師、總醫師與主治醫師等，均可從病例中學習如何診斷風濕免疫科疾病與其他內科相關之疑難雜症等，是非常實用的參考指引。

自序
邁入風濕免疫科之領域已近30年。民國69年在三總原選擇心臟科作為爾後發展之目標；但因內科部李有炳主任再三勸說建議我去學習此當時無人願發展之〔冷門科〕，再加上內科部宋家駿總醫師之鼓勵，我于民國70年抱定志向去走一條很艱辛、未知之路。
民國70年，有幸受教于美國醫藥援華會安排從賓州大學來三總作客座教授Dr. Ralph Schumacher，跟他學習四個月，才瞭解〔風濕病學〕之初貌。一年後我去賓州大學風濕科進修，在一年多時間不論從臨床或研究，Schumacher教授教導甚多，此時我才逐漸瞭解〔風濕病學〕之內涵。回國後10多年，陸續邀請國外之客座教授來台灣指導教學，再加上年輕優秀的醫師進入風濕科，互相切磋，使得個人對[風濕病〕及〔免疫病〕有全盤性之瞭解。
來台北榮總已有14年，因此風濕病患者相當多。在此14年中，經由科內及科際（放射科、皮膚科）互相開會討論風濕免疫之疑難雜症，14年下來，累積了相當多經驗與知識。因感於〔風濕免疫科〕在台灣醫學界之歷史不長，加上知識與經驗必須傳承，在三年前，即興起一念頭，何不把已收集有興趣或有特殊性之病歷整理出書，以教育年輕醫師。
在這一年內，經由本科同仁包括離開之fellow與科內總醫師及外院如台大、三總、馬偕等醫師提供之病歷，我將此書分為五個章節。分別為1. 從圖片中學習 (Learning from the photo) 2. 從簡單病史學習(Learning from the history) 3. 從影像中學習 (Learning form the image) 4. 從簡單病例報告中學習 (Learning from the concise case report) 5.從詳盡之病歷報告及討論中學習 (Learning from the detailed case report and discussion)
希望此書出版，有助于見實習醫師、內外科住院醫師及風濕免疫科醫師及總醫師與主治醫師等從中學習如何認知風濕免疫科疾病與其他內科相關之疑難雜症等。
